Riscone, Brunico and surroundings

Riscone / Reischach

Riscone / Reischach is the south tyrolean village where our hotel is situated.  We were born and raised here only 500 meters next to the best skiresort Plan de Corones / Kronplatz. From the Hotel you have a beautiful few even to the Zillertaler Alps, the Rieserferner range and the Dolomites. On an an altitude of 956 metres above sea level Riscone offers a lot of sunshine.

Leisure time at Riscone

At Riscone there are great sporting facilities: The Pustertal golf club and course and the Reipertinger sport park with the Cron 4 swimming complex - one of the nicest in South Tyrol with a huge suana landscape, tennis courts and in the wintere there's the natural ice skating rink.  In addition to all this there's also the outdoor animal enclosures with native animals such as deer, peacocks, geese and goats.

A place full of magic

Reischach was documented as a settlement about 1000 years ago. For 400 years the noble lords of "Rischon" resided in the still well preserved Angerburg castle. The history of the village is told also by the old South Tyrolean farmhouses, many of which are now listed buildings.

It is also known for its mysterious legends which you will find out while walking to the Kappler Stöckl chapel or to the Shrines of Maria along hte panrama trail above the Hotel Petrus.  In Reischach you'll come across cows, horses, donkeys and goats. If, however, you come across llamas, don't worry - it's not magic. They're real!

Bruneck / Brunico

The town of Brunico or Bruneck is just 4 kilometers away from the Hotel. The City Bus, which stops almost in front of the Hotel and is free for our guests, brings you comfortably to the town. If you'd prefer to make the trip more healthy, why not simply take a Petrus hire bike or talk a walk along the fragrant forest path straight from the hotel into the town.

A vibrant town of modern and tradition

The town of 15,000 inhabitants has more to offer than just cappuccino and the Italian way of life of course: The old town is amongst the most beautiful in South Tyrol! At every turn you'll be met by the history and culture of South Tyrol. Moreover, this medieval town has stayed young at heart: Nowhere in South Tyrol are there more young people und 30 than here - certainly not least thanks to Bruneck University, its nightlife and its mix of traditional awareness and modernity.

Sightseeing in Bruneck

Inside and outside the medieval fortifications with its four frescoed city gates you will discover many historic gems such as Bruneck Castle or the parish church with a Kruzefix by Michael Pacher and the largest Mathis organ in South Tyrol (1983) and other Gothic or Baroque churches. Bruneck Castle is home to the Messner Mountain Museum, not far away is the beautifully designed war cemetery.

Shopping

Sauntering and shopping can be pleasantly combined in the old town: you will find Italian fashion labels as well as traditional festive fashion such as the dirndl, handicrafts, delicacies, stylish and unusual souvenirs.

Dining and socialising

A culinary snack is part of a walk in the city. And as a souvenir, South Tyrolean cuisine offers a lot. So go to one of Brunico's many delis. There are many famous markets and festivals throughout the year. The highlight is the famous Stegen market in late October, the largest market in the whole of Tyrol.  Many well-known markets and festivals take place throughout the year. Val Pusteria / Pustertal

The two largest side valleys of the Puster Valley branch off from Bruneck: on the one hand the Ahrntal in the north, which has retained its original South Tyrolean character and is characterized by the mighty glacier world of the Zillertal Alps and the Rieserferner group.

On the other hand, it goes south to the famous Val Badia with its impressive Dolomite passes.

Moreover, the Antholz Valley, known from the Biathlon World Cup, the Pragsertal with the world-famous Lake Braies, the idyllic Gsiesertal and the Sextnertal with the famous Drei-Zinnen-Dolomites are not far away.

Due to our central position in the valley, we are the perfect starting point for a holiday in South Tyrol and the Puster Valley
