Golf in South Tyrol

One course is more beautiful than the next: Playing golf in South Tyrol means playing on courses that are set perfectly against the backdrop of the magnificent south Tyrolean mountains and make the hearts of every outdoor enthusiast beat faster. Apart from the Lana golf course, which lies in the middle of the orchards around Merano, all other courses demand a straight game and lots of stamina, thanks partially to the gradients you have to cover while playing.
Here I would like to introduce to you the fabulous golf courses in our region.

Pustertal golf club: Golf at the foot of the Kronplatz
(approx. 900 metres away from the Hotel Petrus)  

At the foot of South Tyrol's Kronplatz mountain, with its beautiful natural scenery, the first 9 holes of the scheduled 18-hole championship golf course have been carefully incorporated into the beautiful landscape. The fairways are situated between meadows, woods and a pond and meet all the needs of all levels of golfer. There's also the clubhouse, putting green, driving range with 10 tees (4 covered), pitching green and a practice bunker.

Alta Badia Golf Club: Golfing right in the middle of the Dolomites
(approx. 30 km away from the Hotel Petrus)

The 9-hole Alta Badia golf course in South Tyrol is situated at a height of 1,700m above sea level and in complete harmony with the idyllic scenery of the Dolomite Alps. The fresh mountain air and the beautiful mountain landscape of the Sella Massif and the Sassongher are the ideal place for golf and recreation. The sunlit plateau offers excellent golf conditions in summer. Additionally, the Alta Badia golf club has a driving range and putting green.

Kastelruth Golf Club: Golfing on the Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites
(approx.. 60 km away from the hotel)

Kastelruth golf course is set right in the middle of beautiful natural surroundings and is framed in by the wonderful Dolomite mountains. The small ponds, canyons, rushing streams and waterfalls make golfing here an unforgettable experience! Additionally, the 18-hole golf course on the Alpe di Siusi impresses with its manicured appearance. Fairways and greens are kept in the very best condition and leave nothing to the imagination for the ambitious golfer. The golf course on the Alpe di Siusi is a golfing experience of a very special kind.

Lienz Dolomite Golf: Golf on the 27-hole championship course in the Lienz Dolomites
(approx. 80 km away from the Hotel Petrus)

27-hole championship golf course set right in the middle of the Lienz Dolomites. Untouched nature, wetlands, meadows, intact flora and fauna and a pleasant souther climate. All this against the backdrop of the Lienz Dolomites making one of the most well-groomed 27-hole courses also one of the most beautiful in Austria. Ideal, flat terrain surrounded by unspoiled countryside, lots of water and natural ponds. This is a place for sport lovers - both sophisticated and relaxing. A dream for all golfers and all those who want to be. Everyone from beginner to advanced will find the ideal conditions here.

Petersberg Golf Club: play golf on a high plateau
(approx. 80 km away from the hotel)

Petersberg golf club awaits you with a very nice 18-hole golf course. Situated on a plateau about 1,250m above sea level, the golf course is surrounded by beautiful forests and requires an accurate golf game. Every time you play a round you'll be impressed by the amazing scenery, in particular by the nearby Brenta range. Be sure not to miss this particular course in South Tyrol - Petersberg golf course near Deutschnofen.

Lana Golf Club: golfing surrounded by orchards
(approx. 90 km away from the hotel)

The 9-hole Lana golf course is nestled between the vineyards and orchards around Merano. The 9-hole course is situated below the ruins of Brandis castle and doesn't rise to the heights of some golf courses. However, it does require a precision game to complete the beautifully landscaped course successfully. In addition, the golf course offers a driving range with twelve tees, a pitching green with bunker and a putting green. Lana golf course combines sport with the joy of nature!

Passeier Golf Club: pure experience of nature!
(approx. 100 km away from the hotel)

The 18-hole Passeier golf course sits perfectly in the beautiful landscape of the Passei valley and can be played from February to December. The par 71 course is hemmed in by the beautiful south Tyrolean mountains. The fairways and greens are beautifully looked after and golfing in these surroundings make it a very special experience indeed. The rather narrow fairways require a good, accurate game. The golf course is a challenge for beginners and advanced players alike.

Karersee / Carezza Golf Club: Golf with a view of the rose gardens
(approx. 100 km away from the hotel)

Golf at the Carezza course on Lake Karer in South Tyrol is an unforgettable experience. Surrounded by rose gardens and the Latemar mountain as well as by pine forests and delightful meadows, every golfer gets his/her money's worth here. The 9-hole course is 2,670m long and is playable from May to November. Anyone looking to improve their swing can practice on the driving range and there's also the putting green and bunker to offer the opportunity to practice these parts of your game.

Dolomiti Golf Club: Golfing on a picturesque plateau
(approx. 110 km away from the hotel)

The Dolomiti Golf Club is located on a picturesque plateau. Nestled between beautiful pine forests, it is considered one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in the Alpine region. It is a flat course with minimal height variations and offers a challenge to players of all levels. The course stretches out over an area of 50 hectares and has a 3-hole executive practice facility, driving range, putting green and pitching green. Par 73 with a length of 6,370m.
