It's always nice for me to see again and again the faces of happy guests with a gluten intolerance problem. It's great to see how they get excited about our freshly baked gluten-free bread for breakfast and how they radiate happiness when they read our gluten-free gourmet menu. "It's just like being in paradise here with you", we've heard them say over and over again.

Gluten-free holidays have been enjoyed at our hotel for over 10 years!
In 2002 Nadine, a grandchild of one of our regulars, came on holiday to the Petrus. Shortly beforehand she had been diagnosed with celiac disease ... That was the first time we had cooked gluten-free dishes at our hotel. From year to year, more and more people with gluten intolerance came to holiday with us.
Initially we bought bread and cakes at the pharmacy. However, soon our culinary team was preparing delicious recipes and they were gradually perfected. The fact is that the guests don't only rave about the homemade produce, but they also want to take it home. And our gluten-free menu is available all year round.
Our gluten-free apple pie is an absolute hit!
We also pay full attention when shopping for the things we need. We make sure for example, that the sausages and the ice-cream has no hidden gluten in there. We prepare gluten-free jams and fruit yogurts ourselves in the kitchen as well as, of course, elaborate dishes such as potato gnocchi or ravioli - and the beloved apple pie (every Sunday). As you can see, our guests can enjoy gluten-free South Tyrolean treats and delights while on holiday in South Tyrol.
Master chefs with additional training
Our head chefs, Rudi Leimegger and Martin Tschafeller, have both continued their dietary training since becoming master chefs. Thanks to these long-term courses, they have become professionals in gluten-free cuisine, in lactose-free cuisine and in cuisine for diabetics and allergy sufferers. In addition to this, in 2013 they and their team were awarded 2 toques and 16 points by Gault & Millau!
